Importance Of Tree Plantation

                       Plantation
Tree Plantation is very important to protect earth from harmful gases .Due to Burning of fuels  like Gases CO², Sulfur dioxide, Carbon Monoxide etc .The ozone layer of earth is getting disturd.Ozone layer is present below the stratosphere, at the height of 48 kilometres from earth's surface. It protects the living world of the earth from ultraviolet rays (UV-B) radiating from the Sun. However, nowadays, ozone layer is getting depleted due to following reasons.

1)Green house effect and Global warming: Though CO², is present in very less quantity in atmosphere, it plays very important role of absorption  of solar heat. Over the last 100 years, proportion of CO², has been increased due to
industrialization. Effect of this CO², on the earth's temperature is nothing but green house effect Similar to CO², nitrous oxide, methane and CFC also trap the heat. Collectively, these are called as green house gases.

2)Role of Plants / Trees
Humans, Animals, Industry, Burning of plastic and fossil fuel.etc can make Harmful gases. But they can't make oxygen. In living things only oceans make oxygen and plants convert Cardon dioxide into oxygen.

3)Why temperature of earth is increasing?
Due to disturbs in ozone layer. Ozone layer is getting destroyed. Due to this Ultraviolet rays are directly entering in the earth of  surface . And that's why the temperature of earth is increasing . Due to this. atmosphere is changing, causing disturbances in agricultural yield, distribution of wild animals. Icebergs and glaciers are melting causing increase in sea level.

4)When India started tree plantation
The first event of 20 July 1947 was inaugurated with the planting of Bauhinia saplings by Khurshid Ahmad Khan, commissioner of Delhi in the morning and the afternoon, another ceremony was held at the Purana Qila led by the Vice President of the Interim Government, Nehru.

5)Who started tree plantation in India?
This great initiative was taken by Kanaiyalal Maneklal Munshi (K. M. Munshi) by planting trees at Rajghat, Delhi.

6)Who started world's first tree plantation?
The ancient Greeks and Romans were great planters. The Romans have left evidence in their extensive horticultural manuals of how they planted trees.
